The Food, Drinks and Allied Workers Union (FDAWU) is a trade union affiliated to the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), representing workers in the hotel and food sectors in Singapore.
Our Vision
To be a strong and effective union that protects and advances the interests of workers in the hotel and food sectors, We are working closely together with stakeholders toward a future where our members can look forward to fair wages, good working conditions, job security, and opportunities for career advancement.

Representation
To represent members in negotiations with employers for better wages, working conditions, and benefits through collective negotiation.

To promote skills upgrading and lifelong learning among members to enhance their employability and career progression.
Welfare
To provide a comprehensive range of benefits and welfare programs to enhance the quality of life for members and their families.
Education
To educate members on their rights and responsibilities as workers, and to promote industrial harmony through mutual understanding.
Advocacy
To advocate for policies and initiatives that benefit workers in the hotel and food sector at the national level.

Our History
Since our founding in 1969, FDAWU has been at the forefront of protecting and advancing the interests of workers in the hotel and food sectors in Singapore.
1964: Founding of FDAWU
We were established to represent workers in the hotel and food sectors
1970s: Early Growth
Expanded membership base and established relationships with major employers in the hotel and F&B sectors.
1980s: Collective Bagaining
Successfully negotiated improved wages and working conditions for members across various Hotel and F&B establishments.
1990s: Skills Development Focus
Introduced training programs to help members adapt to changing industry demands and technological advancements.
2000s: Expansion of Services
Extended services to include legal assistance, financial support, and exclusive member-only benefits.
2010s: Digital Transformation
Embraced digital technologies to better serve members and prepare workers for the future economy.
Present: Industry 4.0 Readiness
Focusing on preparing workers for Industry 4.0 challenges and opportunities through upskilling and reskilling initiatives.
Organisational Structure
FDAWU is governed by a dedicated team of leaders who guide our mission to protect and advance the interests of workers in the hotel and food sectors.
How We Operate?
FDAWU is led by its Executive Council, which holds overall governing authority. The Council appoints an Administrative Committee responsible for overseeing the Union’s programmes and initiatives, focusing on the following areas:
