At FDAWU, we believe in workers supporting workers. For over two decades, our Gift from the Heart (GFTH) initiative has been more than just Care bags—it’s a symbol of solidarity, helping fellow union members through tough times. This year, we’re distributing more than 1,000 bags filled with essentials to those who need them most. If you’re a union member in food services, hospitality, wholesale, or food manufacturing, this is your invitation to join this collective effort.

Who Should Apply?
This is for you if:
- Your last pay check disappeared faster than usual
- You’ve been picking up fewer shifts this season
- You’re tired of choosing between “pay bills” or “eat properly”
What’s New This Year?
Each successful applicant will receive:
- A care bag packed with groceries and vouchers for F&B and groceries
- Two invitations to a sit-down appreciation meal
We’ve also improved the experience with:
- More collection locations and time slots
- Streamlined SMS notification

Please submit completed forms with supporting documents by this date. Successful applicants will receive a hardcopy letter after the email notification on successful outcome – this hardcopy letter is required for collection.

Eligibility criteria:
- Applicant must be a paid-up OB member of FDAWU with no union membership arrears at the point of application and collection of the GFTH goodie bag.
- Applicant must fulfil the following income criteria:
- Applicants with NO family members living in the same household:
Gross Monthly Personal Income of $2,600 and below. - Applicants with family members staying in the same household:
Gross Monthly Household Income of $6,000; OR
Per Capita Income of $1,500.
- Applicants with NO family members living in the same household:
Supporting documents:
- A copy of applicant’s proof of income.
- If you are employed: Payslip of any month in 2025.
- If you are unemployed: CPF contribution history for the past 3 months.
- A copy of payslip (of any month in 2025) or CPF statement of all family members who are working and staying in the same household (if applicable).
Please note that applicants may be asked to submit other supporting documents for verification and audit purposes. Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered. Past applicants for GFTH must submit a new application with the documents stated above as there will be no automatic qualification. FDAWU has sole discretion in allocation of collection time/venue and will consider member’s preferences.
The decision of the Selection Committee is final.
