OneMap Workshop for Hoteliers (11 July 2025)

In today’s competitive hospitality landscape, where rising prices are increasing both business costs and traveller expectations, a key driver ofcustomer satisfaction and business performance is location intelligence. From helping visitors navigate effortlessly to your doorstep, to boosting local visibility and enhancing concierge experiences, location intelligence delivers seamless, high-impact engagement which are no longer just a convenience—they’re a competitive advantage in an ever-demanding market.

Recognising this, the Food, Drinks and Allied Workers Union (FDAWU) partnered with the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) in 11 July 2025 to host an exclusive OneMap workshop tailored for hospitality professionals. The intention of this event is to empower hoteliers with practical, map-based solutions that improve guest experience.

What is OneMap?

OneMap is a free online geospatial platform made by the SLA. It provides reliable, timely and accurate location-based information and services to the public. OneMap allows users to do things such as:

  • Find any address, postal code or building name with ease.
  • Discover and easily locate nearby amenities.
  • Stunning array of base maps to choose from to suit user needs.

For hoteliers, OneMap offers valuable insights into location dynamics, helps enhance guest navigation and discovery, and supports smarter decision-making in areas like site selection, marketing, and local service integration.

Why OneMap?

More than just a navigational tool, OneMap is a comprehensive geospatial platform that is capable of empowering businesses with accurate, real-time location data. During the workshop, we explored how hoteliers can use OneMap to:

  • Increase Discoverability: Ensuring your hotel appears correctly on popular location-based websites and digital maps so that visitors can discover you and make a straight reservation.
  • Enhance Guest Journeys: Creating personalised travel experiences through well-selected guides and local websites to improve customer experience.
  • Leverage Data for Marketing: Utilize geospatial analytics to pinpoint foot traffic patterns, enhance regional marketing campaigns, and cultivate tactical alliances with surrounding companies.

With an effective digital strategy using OneMap, hoteliers can expect to improve operational efficiency, attract more guests, and deliver a more connected, location-aware experience.

Who Attended the Event?

This workshop was tailored more towards job roles in the industry that could make effective use of OneMap, such as:

  • Revenue & Distribution Managers: Improve direct booking experience through improving accuracy on maps
  • Marketing & Digital Teams: Learn to use geodata to improve campaigns and local partnerships
  • Guest Experience & Operations Managers: Use interactive maps to enhance concierge experiences and navigation.

A technical background was not required for this event, as it was designed to be beginner-friendly, with accessible and actionable strategies that can be implemented immediately.

Step Up Your Hospitality Game

With tools like OneMap, your hotel can effortlessly blend real-world hospitality with digital convenience, making guests feel welcome from the moment they find you online to their check-out and beyond.
