Gift from the Heart 2026 — Essential Support for FDAWU Members

At FDAWU, we believe in workers supporting workers. For over two decades, our Gift from the Heart (GFTH) initiative has been more than just Care bags—it’s a symbol of solidarity, helping fellow union members through tough times. If you’re a FDAWU union member working in food services, hospitality, wholesale trades and retail supermarkets, or food manufacturing industries, we warmly encourage you to apply and be part of this meaningful initiative.

What can you expect this year?

Each successful applicant will receive:

  • Care packs containing groceries and household essentials
  • Vouchers for F&B and grocery purchases Application Deadline: Friday, 17 July 2026 (6:00 PM)

Please submit completed forms with supporting documents by Friday, 17 July 2026. Successful applicants will receive a hardcopy letter after the email notification on successful outcome. The hardcopy letter is required for collection.

The collection for GFTH 2026 will be on:

Saturday, 3rd October 2026

Eligibility criteria:

Applicant must be a paid-up OB member of FDAWU with no union membership arrears at the point of application and collection of the GFTH goodie bag.

Applicant must fulfil the following income criteria:

  • Applicants with NO family members living in the same household:
    • Gross Monthly Personal Income of $2,600 and below.
  • Applicants with family members staying in the same household:
    • Gross Monthly Household Income of $6,000 and below; OR
    • Per Capita Income of not more than $1,650.

Supporting documents:

If you have a blue CHAS card:

Please submit a copy of your blue CHAS card that is within the validity of 2 years from the date of issue.

If you do not have a blue CHAS card, please submit the following:

A copy of applicant’s proof of income.

  • If you are employed: Payslip of any month in 2026.
  • If you are unemployed: CPF contribution history for the past 3 months.

A copy of payslip (of any month in 2026) or CPF statement of all family members who are working and staying in the same household (if applicable).

Please note that applicants may be asked to submit other supporting documents for verification and audit purposes. Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered. Past applicants for GFTH must submit a new application with the documents stated above as there will be no automatic qualification. FDAWU has sole discretion in allocation of collection time/venue and will consider member’s preferences.
